Medical Insert Molding

Pexco via its Spectrum Injection Molding division offers full capabilities in insert molding and micro insert molding.  Insert molding provides customers with a lower cost alternative to other manufacturing methods by reducing assembly and labor.  It also increases product reliability as parts are secured tightly into the thermoplastic to provide added strength by consolidating parts. 

Insert Molding

Pexco's micro insert molding capabilities range across aerospace sub-assemblies to other industrial complex components, even to implantable assemblies for medical applications.  Pexco may manually load metal inserts for conventional, hydraulic and vertical shuttle press molding. Operator assisted, semi-automated loading of multiple part strips using offline loading fixtures on the other hand is used in many tight tolerance, mid-range volume applications.  Automated insert in a continuous reel-to-reel molding process is used when high volume precision molding is required.

Spectrum has considerable experience in developing new product designs, as well as transferring existing tooled programs.  Pexco will support you on your easiest part configurations to the most complex moldable geometries. With our in-house plastic CNC machining capabilities, we can even provide solutions to save tooling expense or to create non-moldable geometries.
