Plastic Extrusions Capabilities

Pexco has been a leader in custom plastic extrusion, delivering innovative solutions for diverse markets and applications. With six in-house tool and die centers and expertise in processing over 500 different resins, we offer unmatched versatility and precision. Whether you’re designing a complex part or optimizing an existing component, our team is here to guide you from concept to production.

Extrusion Techniques

We specialize in a wide range of advanced extrusion processes to meet your unique needs:

Multi-Layer Extrusion is a process in which two or more polymers are combined and/or joined.

Co-extrusion involves simultaneously processing multiple plastic materials through a die to create components with distinct properties, such as varied finishes, durometers, or colors, within a single fused part. This technique is ideal for applications requiring multiple performance characteristics, such as transparent and opaque sections for lighting or flexible hinges integrated with rigid components.

Pexco operates multiple co-extruders across its business platform, offering innovative solutions tailored to meet diverse customer needs.

Tri-extrusion uses three materials to create a single part with varied properties, such as finishes, durometers, or colors. Common applications include lighting components, flexible hinges, or gaskets fused to rigid parts.

Pexco’s tri-extrusion capabilities deliver innovative, multi-functional solutions tailored to your needs, utilizing three extruders to manufacture a part that has three resins of differing properties.

Crosshead extrusion is a process that coats and envelops materials like wire or metal shapes with plastic by feeding them through a “crosshead” at the extrusion die. This technique allows solid substrates, such as copper wire or fibrous materials, to integrate into the plastic melt, creating a durable, composite product.

Commonly used in wire and cable manufacturing, crosshead extrusion is also ideal for custom plastic applications where materials cannot pass through the extruder’s screw and barrel. Pexco offers single-layer, co-extrusion, and multi-layer crosshead extrusion solutions to meet diverse performance requirements.

Our elastomer extrusion capabilities ensure flexibility, resilience, and durability for a wide range of applications. We specialize in producing high-quality elastomeric components that meet stringent industry standards for automotive, construction, food and beverage, and general industrial uses.

Our in-house tool and die shop with over 3000 dies allow us to produce custom profiles for a multitude of applications.

Pexco specializes in high-performance plastic extrusions designed for durability and strength. Our advanced materials support automotive, industrial, and consumer applications, delivering reliable performance in the most demanding environments.
