Plastic Tube Extrusion

For over 50 years, Pexco has been perfecting the art and science of extrusion, including both rigid and flexible custom plastic tube extrusions. Featuring the highest quality materials, sizes range from fractions of an inch in diameter to as large as 8-10 inches, across both general purpose and high performance material resins.

Custom tubing is created when molten plastic polymers are pushed through a die, creating a hollow profile design well suited for pneumatic or other media transfers, including misting and fogging systems. Whether your business requires nylon, polyurethane, polyethylene, or specialty recoil tubing, Pexco can provide the quick turnaround and superior performance required for your application. Get started with our “Key Considerations for Tubing Applications” checklist below.

Key Considerations for Tubing Applications

  • Application - media transfer or pneumatic
  • Usage - fluid or gas handling or process control
  • Level of flexibility or rigidness required
  • Minimum and maximum tolerances
  • Operating pressure and temperature
  • Resin compatibility with the media being conveyed
  • Chemical, UV, and abrasion resistance
  • Wall thicknesses and durometers
  • Diameter specifications to match new or existing connections and fittings
  • Required specifications (REACH, RoHS)
  • Cost/performance assessment
  • Color indicator requirements - standard or custom
  • Standard or metric sizing
Tubing Style or MaterialFeaturesApplicationsAvailable Lengths
Nylon TubingNylon is considered a premium choice for many tubing applications, including pneumatic tubing, due to high abrasion and chemical resistance and broad temperature range. Harder walls are also achievable with nylon, providing easier fitting connections. Pneumatic systems, hydraulic (low pressure), lubricants, vacuum lines, fuel lines, general chemicals, air-logic, oil lines, gasesCustom or reel lengths available; 1/8", 5/32", 1/4" and 5/16" on 500 ft. or 1000 ft. reels; 3/8" on 250 ft. or 500 ft. reels; 1/2" on 250 ft. or 300 ft. reels; other reels available upon request
Polyethylene TubingLow density Polyethylene (LLDPE) provides a high quality yet economical alternative for tubing. LLDPE's advantages include the ability to relieve stress, helping to prevent long-term stress crack problems traditionally associated with standard polyethylene. Temperature and chemical compatibility limitations apply for some applications.Chemical lines, pneumatic systems, water lines, general low pressure & temperature applicationsCustom or reel lengths available; 1/4" & 5/16 on 500 ft. or 1000 ft reels; 3/8" on 250 ft. or 500 ft. reels; 1/2" on 250 ft. or 300 ft. reels; other reel lengths available upon request
Polyurethane TubingPolyurethane tubing combines the flexibility of rubber with the recognized advantages of plastic tubing. Its kink-resistance, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistance make Polyurethane an excellent choice for general purpose thermoplastic tubing applications where tight routing is required.Pneumatic systems, computer devices, automotive, vacuum lines, fuel lines, air-logic, laboratory use, instrumentation, machine toolsCustom or reel lengths available; 1/8", 5/32", 1/4", and 5/16" on 500 ft. or 1000 ft. reels; 3/8" on 250 ft. or 500 ft. reels; 1/2 on 250 ft. or 300 ft. reels; other reels lengths available upon request
PVC Tubing PVC tubing offers a wide variety of chemical resistance, which makes it an ideal choice for a range of industrial solutions that require the handling of corrosive, pure, or sensitive materials.
  • Flexible
  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • UV stabilized
  • Wide operating temperature range
  • Electrically Insulating
  • Flame retardant properties
  • Lowest shrink temperature of any tubing
Lawn and garden, food & beverage, construction, electrical, bundling and wire protector, as well as medical use

Great for any applications requiring abrasion resistance, bend restriction, color coding, or covering
Available in lengths from 50' to 5,000'*, as well as custom lengths *size varies by part number
Specialty Tubing - Weed & Paint Spray HoseChemical weed abatement and paint spray applications require high resistance to all types of paint, solvents, oils, and chemicals. Chemical weed spraying systems, paint sprayersAvailable in 100 foot plastic poly bags, 500 foot disposable reels, or 1,000 foot disposable reels
Specialty Tubing - High Pressure Misting TubeMade specifically for use in high pressure misting and fogging systems with an operating pressure of 1000 PSI. Made with 100% virgin nylon and UV resistant. Custom colors available. Misting systems, fogging systemsAvailable in custom lengths or 500’ and 1000’ reels
Nylon Recoil Bulk Hose (hose only - fittings sold separately) Used to create recoil hose of any required lengthPlant air stations, assembly stations (nail guns, Staple guns, etc.) Available lengths = 12 ft., 25 ft., and 50 ft. units. Custom lengths upon request.
