HDPE Manufacturing (Polyethylene Extrusion)

Need Help?

Polyethylene Extrusion Manufacturing | (HDPE & LDPE)

Pexco extrudes Polyethylene parts across a variety of market applications, ranging from privacy fence slats to filtration media to other general custom plastic components.

Polyethylene (PE) is one of the most widely used plastics in the world, with over 100 million tons produced worldwide each year. Polyethylene accounts for 34% of the total plastics market. It is a lightweight, durable thermoplastic well known for its use in plastic containers, bags, films, tubes, toys, laminates, etc. spanning multiple markets (packaging, automotive, fence, consumer, electrical, etc.)

Pexco manufactures Polyethylene (PE) extruded parts across a variety of market applications, including Fence, Water Filtration, Packaging, Traffic Safety, Pumps, Protective Capping, and other custom industrial tubing and profile extrusions.

Polyethylene Pellets

Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic material, made from the polymerization of ethylene (or ethene) monomer. The three most common types of Polyethylene are: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE). Polyethylene is of low strength, hardness and rigidity, but has a high ductility and impact strength as well as low friction. It feels waxy when touched. Most LDPE and HDPE grades have excellent chemical resistance, meaning they are not attacked by strong acids or bases, and are resistant to gentle oxidants. PE absorbs almost no water.

It’s gas and water vapor permeability is lower than most other thermoplastics, however oxygen and carbon dioxide can pass easily. It can become brittle when exposed to sunlight unless UV stabilizer is added. PE offers good resistance to electricity and is a good electrical insulator. Optically, PE can vary between almost clear (transparent), milky (translucent) or opaque. Polyethylene burns slowly with a blue flame having a yellow tip, gives off an odor of paraffin and produces a drip (similar to a wax candle).
