Its resistance to high temperatures gives it a role of a flame retardant, without compromising its strength, which often results from the addition of separate flame retardants. However, Polysulfone has low resistance to some solvents and undergoes weathering; this weathering instability can be offset by adding other materials into the polymer. Polysulfone Tubing (PSU or PSF) is extruded using a strong, rigid, high performance thermoplastic with properties that remain stable over a wide temperature range from approximately minus 150° F to over 300° F. Polysulfone (PSU) plastic has excellent electrical and chemical resistant properties, which enables it to satisfy many high-heat, high-performance demands. Additionally, it is approved for food contact and potable water.
