How to Install the FTSTR Ground Mount Post

• Anchor: 2″ square, 12-gauge galvanized perforated steel tube (Telspar) 
• Driver Head: Standard steel driver head to fit the anchor 
• Post Driver: Manual or powered post driver

Step-by-Step Installation

Step 2: Drive the Anchor 

Start by choosing your installation location. Ensure the area is free from underground utilities, rocks, or other obstructions. A clear, flat patch of ground is ideal.

Step 2: Drive the Anchor 

Using the post driver and driver head, insert the Telspar anchor vertically into the ground. It’s critical to keep the tube level and plumb during this step for structural integrity. Drive the anchor until approximately 1 inch remains above ground level. This stub will receive the hinge and post assembly. 

Step 3: Seat the Post with STR Hinge 

Now insert the FTSTR hinge (the “star” piece) into the exposed square anchor. It should slide in smoothly and fit snugly. Once aligned, secure it by inserting the pin through the pre-drilled holes and fastening it with a cotter pin or bolt. 

Step 4: Final Check 

After securing the post: 

• Confirm it is standing upright and level. 
• Ensure the reflective sheeting faces oncoming traffic. 
• Check that the base and hinge do not wobble or twist under light pressure.
